Best Singapore Laksa in Toronto

I love many asian soups including wonton and pho. However, Laksa is one of my favourites and it doesn't seem to get a lot of attention.

Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup in the Peranakan cuisine. Laksa consists of rice noodles or rice vermicelli with chicken, prawn or fish, served in spicy soup; either based on rich and spicy curry coconut milk, or based on sour asam (tamarind or gelugur). This dish can be found in Southeast countries especially in Singapore. (Source: Wikipedia)

I personally adore this dish as it has many flavour elements conflicting and blending well together. I'm currently stuck in Toronto ... However, Toronto is lucky to have a very diverse population that brings many ethic cuisines to the crowds.

Here is a list of restaurants that I have visited offering above decent Laksa:
  1. Restoran Malaysia - 815 Major Mackenzie Dr E, Richmond Hill, ON L4C 9X2 - My personal favourite and best in GTA, use egg noodles
  2. One 2 Snacks - 8 Glen Watford Dr #26, Scarborough, ON M1S 2B7 - Curry Laksa available - but long lines -come early!
  3. Gourmet Malaysia - 4466 Sheppard Ave E, Scarborough, ON - a rich spicy broth mixed with rice noodles
  4. Malay Thai Famous Cuisine Ltd - 3255 Highway 7 east, Markham, ON L3R 3P9 - found within the FMP food court - interesting alternative to Laksa with affordable pricing
  5. Mosaic Southeast Cuisine - 16 Vogell Rd Unit B, Richmond Hill, ON - new restaurant offering southeast cuisine including laksa - very coconut milk heavy soup base - still tasty
I'm always looking for good Laksa and always open to visit other places if you have recommendations.
