Lunch at Little Saigon (Richmond Hill)
11:39:00 AMWinter was finally here in Toronto, Canada. With such a cold day, my colleague and I decided it was best to adventure to a hot meal for lunch. What was the calling? Pho! I had saw some positive reviews on Yelp about this pho restaurant up in Richmond Hill. After finishing our meetings at work, we headed out to look for Little Saigon on Yonge Street.
Atmosphere:
Located at the T&T plaza on Yonge St., Little Saigon seemed pretty small from the outside. However, once you step in, the restaurant was very long in design like an alleyway with tables on both sides of the restaurant. I loved the warm inviting decor and colour schemes.
Service:
The staff were very helpful and provided us with menu option with paper to write our own orders.
Food:
From this establishment, I found many option for Vietnamese dishes. For this visit, my colleague and I decided to get 2 medium phos with rare beef and brisket ($8 each). For the large version, you had to pay extra $2. I decided to forgo a smoothie and ordered spring rolls ($4).
In regards to meal, the pho was very good especially the broth and noodles. I found the brisket pieces a little too thick for my liking. I couldn't detect any taste of MSG in their soup. For a medium pho order, I found that there wasn't enough noodles (especially in comparison to Pho 88 in Scarborough). The spring rolls were very hot and crisp. In combination with the dip, the spring rolls were delightful.
Overall, the meal was surprising above average for taste and definitely would come back if in the neighborhood.
