For this lunch adventure, I wanted to try something near in our work area. To my surprised, we haven't tried this place called Tsuki Izakaya.

Apparently, this was the same restaurant that used to be located at the Yonge and Sheppard area. The new establishment was very spacious and open. There were couple dozen sake bottles (filled with water) lining along the perimeter of the windows. You get a semi cozy atmosphere with these large bamboo booths and dark decor.

Our waitress was very cheerful and helpful in assisting with our orders and providing the foods.

For our lunch visit, we were contemplating the menu options for a long time. There were a wide range of options from sushi, donburi, grilled meats to bibimbap ... There was just too much selection. You know what Costco does well? Giving limited choices to customers.

In the end, I decided on a sushi sashimi bento box ($12). All the rice served in my bento were using purple grains. It was interesting to look at but tasted the same as other sushi rice. The steam vegetables were a horrible disappointment and over steamed! Either they didn't buy serve fresh produce or just over killed it. Found the fish cuts actually disappointing in taste and poorly cut.

Overall, I wasn't too impressive with this place and don't think I would come back. My colleagues commented that the Kaarage dish wasn't too good. The fried chicken shouldn't be swimming in sauces ...
