Special Take Out @ Duo Patisserie - St. Honore Cassis

10:18:00 PM

Thank Goodness It's Friday (TGIF) ... Today, I was so busy at work. Surprise! I don't blog all the time about food (some people think I do). I had many meetings and debug issues to resolve (especially with external vendors/customers). Worst of all, I had no free time to go out for lunch today :(

I was pulled into an emergency meeting and in parallel, discovered that I had won a special axe department award in another meeting. It was labelled "Competitive Axe Award" for killing the competition ... I had a special pet project that I had been pushing through my company.

By the end of the day, I wanted to get something special myself to celebrate my achievement. I went to Duo Pastisserie near my work and purchased this brand new dessert called "St. Honore Cassis" ($7.5 just for one!). I was so lucky since this was the last one for the day!

This dessert has a combination of the following ingredients:

  • Vanilla cream
  • Caramel Coated Pate a choux
  • Blackcurrant cream
  • Blackcurrant compate
  • Vanilla creme brulee
  • puff pastry
Even though it costed about $8+ in the end, it was a great dessert. There were many different texture layers through the dessert ranging from very fluffy cream to the puff pastry to the hard caramel shell. The pearl balls were crispy but soft (I was expecting something hard).

In the end, the dessert wasn't overly sweet! Would I buy this again? Yes!

Amazing dessert
